When you invest in my photography, you are choosing a photographer that has crafted their niche in birth photos. This means you’ve chosen an artist who has committed to what it means to live a life on call, and all that comes with that. I am sincerely passionate about prioritising the work and your baby’s entrance to the world. Birth photographers usually cannot take other high-stakes event work, such as weddings, in our bookings, and that we limit other session styles in our calendar to minimise reschedules and provide balance in our family life.
Moving through birth spaces with confidence and tact, are specific skills I have cultivated through time, patience and a great deal of effort. As a doula and photographer with years of experience in this area, there are several benefits to hiring me as your birth photographer, including:
Confidence in the optimal time to contact me to arrive, based on your birth aspirations, location, and planning and your birthing history. I do not ask for internal checks or use a broad marker for my attendance.
A caseload reflective of someone who is available and capable of prioritising attending births. I only take 2 families per month, and am comfortable staying put if birth should become longer than expected
Discernment in capturing more significant medical events should they arise
Experience and competence in theatre for Caesarean photography (where access can be permitted)
Pre-labour consulting to establish what is right for your family and team of professionals, and what is expected from my involvement in your birth space.
Follow-up photography offered at no extra charge, should your immediate postpartum not allow for a first-hold, first feed, or skin-to-skin (within Hamilton only)
Preparedness to relocate if your birth location moves-mid birth, including hospital transfers
Repeat client discounts for any future sessions, including family work or repeat birth images
All birth is worthy, beautiful and profound. I capture diverse birth experiences that provide you with a timeline of what can be a hazy event, and can offer to provide additional video coverage of your baby’s birth on a phone, as well as a professional short video of labour highlights. Birth Only - from $1999
Full coverage of your birth, from active labour until 1-2 hours postpartum. 100+ fully edited digital images, delivered in a mix of colour and black and white. A photo of your baby may be delivered within 24 hours for you to use as an announcement, if requested.
A birth story keepsake box, or photobook can be added from $249.
Full Story Birth + Fresh 48 from $2459
Birth is beautiful, raw and real, but often not moments you’re ready to share with your family and friends. One the dust has settled, I can return and capture your family settling in, freshly showered, and feeling at ease. Your baby will already look very different from their birth photos, unfurled, cleaned up, and beautifully sleepy. These are low-pressure, candid images that do not involve a posing or wrapping your newborn.
Families that choose this option also receive a complimentary birth keepsake box, photobook or framed print of their choice.
Other Photography Sessions From $199
If you’re looking for family photography, updating portraits and capturing your kids as they grow, I offer both express sessions (30 mins) and full 1 hour slots.
I enjoy relaxed, candid images at locations I know like the back of my hand when it comes to optimal lighting. Although both outdoor and studio options are available.
Full printing options are available, but never necessary to access your digital gallery.
My birth clients receive discounted maternity and milestone sessions for life, starting at $199. Non-birth clients can still access affordable and beautiful family images from $249.
